“The P.R. Professional Experience” The 135th Street Agency was hired by the U.S. Postal Service to execute a campaign that will promote their online products and services to the 18-34 year old demographic. The 135th Street Agency proposed a college contest in which students will compete to see who can devise the best P.R. campaign for online postal products NetPost®, Click-N-Ship® and Direct Mail. This idea became known as the P.R. Professional Experience, which was launched in February 2006 in the New York Tri-State area. Participating college teams included New York University, Montclair State University, Fairleigh Dickinson, Quinnipiac, Dowling College and SUNY New Paltz. The winning team was announced during an Awards Ceremony on May 15, 2006 at the New York Postal Headquarters in Manhattan. Montclair State University was named the Grand Prize winning team for their “Clickity-Split” PR campaign (see GALLERY for photos). Each member of the Grand Prize-winning team won over $2500 in prizes sponsored by Microsoft, JetBlue Airways and Travelpro, including an Xbox 360 ™ a roundtrip flight to anywhere JetBlue Airways flies and a set of Travelpro luggage. The Grand Prize-winning team also got the chance to have their campaign featured in a future Postal Service Public Relations promotion.
