Dubelyoo

One of the most sought after visual artists in the Southeast, Dubelyoo is fast becoming an icon in the urban art world. He’s contributed artwork for some of the biggest brands in the business—Nike, Apple, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, and Heineken—and his work with Ecko (he drew that ill sketch of rapper Ghostface Killah back in 2003), LRG, Complex, XXL, Scratch, URB, Gear and Elemental is legendary. The 135th Street Agency was hired to secure art-related projects and events for Dubelyoo as well as represent him in the media.

MY UZI WEIGHS A TON

Produced by Dubelyoo, “My Uzi Weighs a Ton” is a politically-charged artistic look at America’s fascination with firearms. With a collection of artists whose styles vary as much as the opinions on this controversial topic, “My Uzi” is a multimedia showcase aimed to spark conversation. Its goal is to be interesting to the art world but relevant to the real world.

On July 15, 2006, “My Uzi” opened at the Art on 5 Gallery in Atlanta to a crowd of 600 guests (see Gallery for photos). Participating artists included Gilbert Young, Kevin A. Williams (WAK), Maurice Evans, Dante, Dubelyoo, Fabian Williams, Cruz, Michael Thrush, Dawud Anyabwile and a host of others. Sponsors included Art on 5 Gallery, 3 Vodka, DUBELYOO, Creative Loafing, The 135th Street Agency, Konsole Kingz, DJ Lord, DJ Jamad, Super Human Strength, Patchwerk Recording Studios, Remedy Media, Moods Music, Denominator Graphics, Savior Sol and Visual Prophets.
