CHALLENGE: Our marketing and PR strategies helped OWN build its 25-54 AA female viewer- ship and recover from its prior year ratings difficulties. In 2013, we launched Tyler Perry's programming on the network, connecting OWN with Perry's devoted followers while attracting new ones.
STRATEGY + SUCCESS:
• OWN is the fastest growing network for women 25-54
• In Q1 2014, OWN was the #1 cable network on Tuesday and Wednes- day nights for African-American women.
• Tyler Perry's "The Haves and the Have Nots" boasted five episodes where 3M viewers tuned in per ep- isode. (The March 11 season finale had 3.6M – the most watched telecast in OWN history.)
• "The Haves and the Have Nots" is also the #1 original series on all of TV for African-American women on Tuesday nights.
• On Wednesday nights, "Love Thy Neighbor" is the #1 original cable series for African-American women 25-54.
• On Saturday nights, OWN is the #2 network on all of TV for African- American women 25-54.
